I have been devoted to the anatomical and histological research of the brain and spinal cord in normal and diseased conditions. I am the first researcher to conduct brain clearing and 3D imaging of large tissues, such as the mouse brain, in Australia, and applied this technology to neural, skin, retina, and tumor tissues, and won the 2016 Asia Pacific Society of Neurochemistry Young Researcher Award. Dr Liang has chaired two sub-projects of the Australian Research Council and one charity funded project. In 2016, he moved to the Department of Pharmacology, Western Sydney University, exploring natural products for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. In 2018, he returned to the Translational Research Institute of Brain and Brain-like Intelligence affiliated to School of Medicine, Tongji University, and won a National Natural Science Foundation general project to study the central regulation mechanism of acupoint sensitization. With the support of the starting fund from Shanghai Fourth People’s hospital, he focused on the therapeutic strategies for Alzheimer’s disease with the assistance of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Till now, he has published 65 SCI articles, including 33 first-author or corresponding-author ones.
