主要研究领域涉及慢性肝病及肝纤维化、炎症性肠病等消化道疾病，在国内较早建立了肥胖、高脂血症性NASH的动物模型，并开展了系列研究。近年来致力于揭示炎症性肠病发病机制和肠-肝对话，解析新的治疗靶点，建立了炎症性肠病的生物样本库，创新性开展人脐带间充质干细胞治疗难治性中重度克罗恩病的单臂、开放标签的临床研究，通过clinicalTrial.gov国际临床试验注册，编号为：NCT05262829。发表SCI论文总影响因子70分以上，主要代表作发表于Lancet子刊Ebiomedicine，被授予上海市浦东新区优秀科技论文三等奖、上海市医学科技奖三等奖和上海市科学技术进步奖三等奖（第五完成人）等，主持国家自然科学基金面上项目1项（在研），上海市卫健委课题3项（在研1项）、浦东新区科委课题2项（在研1项）及浦东新区卫健委学科建设项目——炎症性肠病特色专病（在研）等。
Prof. Zhong’s main research area involves chronic liver disease, liver fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and other digestive tract diseases. She established the models of obesity and hyperlipidemia Non-alcoholic steatohepatittis (NASH) in rats in China, and a series of studies were carried out by using this model. In recent years, her team have devoted to revealing the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease and the gut-liver crosstalk, to analyzing new therapeutic targets, and to building up a sample bank of IBD. She also explored the safteness and effectiveness of Mesenchymal stem cell in treatment of Crohn’s Disease, the related articles have been published in EbioMedicine, a lancet publication.
She’s been a PI in a lot of IBD clinical trial and was awarded the third prize of excellent scientific and technological paper of Pudong New Area, the third prize of Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award and the Third Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, her work was funded by General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Technology Development Project of Pudong Science, Technology and Economic Commission of Shanghai, Specialty Feature Construction Project of ShanghaiPudong New Area Health Commission and the Scientific research project of Shanghai Municipal Health Committee.
