主要从事慢性肝病与肝癌的基础及临床研究。近年来先后主持国家杰出青年科学基金、国家自然科学基金重点项目等10余项基金，资助总额近2000万元。以通讯作者发表SCI论文50余篇，其中影响因子10分以上10篇，最高影响因子23.4分（Cell Stem Cell）。获国家科技进步奖创新团队奖、国家科技进步奖二等奖、上海市科技进步一等奖等奖励6项。培养研究生获全国百篇优秀博士论文及其提名奖各1人，上海市优秀博士论文4人，上海市优秀硕士论文2人。先后入选国家杰青、教育部“长江学者奖励计划”特聘教授、全军高层次科技创新人才工程拔尖人才、上海市领军人才和上海市优秀学科带头人、上海市“十佳医生”、“感动上海年度十大人物提名奖”。享受国务院政府特殊津贴。

The research of Professor Wei-Fen Xie focus on the basic and clinical research on chronic liver diseases and liver cancer, supported by National Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholar, the key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc. He has published more than 50 scientific articles as a corresponding author in Cell Stem Cell, Cell Research, Hepatology, Gut, Journal of Hepatology, Cancer Research, etc. He has received 6 awards including National scientific and technological progress award Innovation Team Award, the second award of the Scientific and Technological Progress of the State, the first prize in scientific and technological progress in Shanghai. In addition, he was honored as a Distinguished Young Scholar by National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2008, Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program of China by Ministry of Education of China in 2009, Leading talents in Shanghai in 2008, Shanghai outstanding academic leaders plan by Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Committee in 2012 and "Ten best doctors" in Shanghai in 2012. He also received special subsidy of the government of the State Council in 2011.
