MBBS students will be provided with opportunities for different types of scholarships. In order to qualify for a scholarship, applicants must meet the specified requirements. Scholarships are awarded based on the thorough evaluation of all merits in terms of academic performance,leadership competence and etc.

- MBBS Entry Scholarship

From: Medical School, Tongji University;

Eligibility: New-incoming MBBS students;

Prizes: CNY 4500/person;

The admitted applicants will be offered the MBBS entry scholarship (a one-off payment of 10% of the first-year tuition) if they have met the following requirements.

- Receive the offer on or before May 31 (extended till June 30), and

- Register on the specified date as per the admission notice.

- Dean Scholarship

From: Dean of Medical School, Tongji University;

Eligibility: Second-year MBBS students onwards;

Prizes: Special Prize (CNY 20,000/person, top 5% students), First Prize (CNY 10,000/person, up to 10% students) and Second Prize (CNY 5,000/person, up to 30% students);

(* The above percentage is estimated based on the total number of students excluding the 1st year MBBS students.)

Requirements: Excellent academic performance, proactive participation in the extra-curricular activities, good faith and willingness to help classmates as well as the notarized transcripts from previous year of study;

Application Time: From the end of each academic year, Nov/Dec (the application documents shall be submitted to MEDICAL SCHOOL);

- Tongji Presidential Scholarship

From: President of Tongji University;

Eligibility: International students for Bachelor’s Degree ;

Prizes: Special Prize (CNY 10,000/person), First Prize (CNY 4,000/person), Second Prize (CNY 2,000/person), and Third Prize (CNY 1,000/person);

Requirements: Excellent academic performance, notarized transcripts from previous year of study, certificates of good involvement in activities, outstanding achievements such as publications, awards and etc.;

Application Time: Around October each year (the application documents shall be submitted to International Student Office, Room 705, Zonghe Building on campus);

- Shanghai Government Scholarship (Class C)

From: Shanghai Municipal Government;

Eligibility: International students for Bachelor’s Degree ;

Prizes: ￥4,000/person;

Requirements: Excellent academic performance and notarized transcripts from previous year of study, works or artworks published, awards obtained in student competitions, recommendation of international office of the department;

Application Time: Around October each year (the application documents shall be submitted to International Student Office, Room 705, Zonghe Building);
